Hooray! It’s finally spring! Our entire family has been soaking up the warmer weather, staying outside as much as we can.
In between hikes and bike rides, we’ve been exploring some of our favorite spring and garden books, along with new ideas we found on Netflix streaming. (You all know that I’m a big fan of using Netflix to help teach science! )
Come and take a look at what we’re watching — maybe this will give you some ideas, too!.
Spring Themed Videos for Kids on Netflix
The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That
I’ve been known to watch this series even when the kids aren’t in the room. {ahem}
We’ve got Show Me the Honey and Chasing Rainbows in our queue. You can check out more show ideas or explore the Cat in the Hat Learning Library for rabbit trails to investigate this spring!
I have to remind my little ones how fun this show can be — since they often overlook it for others.
When we were chatting about our garden and spring themed homeschool studies, I found the episode Stick with Me about a dandelion seed. How cute!
Magic School Bus
In The Magic School Bus Goes to Seed, kids can learn about pollination. We’ve been enjoying MSB for many years in our house!
Daniel Tiger
This is my 2 year old’s favorite show. {Please, Netflix, keep it in the rotation!}
In Be A Vegetable Taster, we watch Daniel and his friends head to the garden to sample the vegetables there.
I’ll be honest.
Sid makes me a little screechy. My big kids love watching him, and the things they’re reviewing are fun, but I’m seriously glad I’m not Sid’s teacher.
My kids love this episode about decomposition – perfect if you’re planning on a compost pile this spring, or if your kids just love learning about cool (but gross) science concepts.
What about you? Do you have favorite Netflix streaming shows that fit with a spring theme?
Be sure and share them with us in the comments — I’d love to add more to our queue for science class!
I’m a proud member of the Netflix Stream Team and love sharing how we use Netflix in our home.
