With lots of little ones at home, we’re never far from planning a birthday party! My boys have been asking for a Skylanders birthday party this year, so I’ve been gathering ideas to create a wonderful party for them.
My boys (and Rachel, too!) are huge Skylander fans. When the boys asked me to start planning a Skylanders party, I was a little nervous.
After a deep breath, I realized that it’s not that complicated.
Adam’s favorite color is green, while Thomas’ favorite is blue. Putting those colors together complements the Skylanders party theme perfectly!
Skylanders birthday party decor
When decorating for a party, I use solid color tablecloths and accent with themed napkins or plates. I love the way it looks, plus it saves some cash.
Over at Pretty Perfect Party Ideas, I found some great printable party decor items from banners, cupcake toppers, games and more!
If you’re pressed for time, grab the Skylanders party in a box — everything you need to pull off the perfect Skylanders party!
Skylanders Birthday Party Food
We love cupcakes for birthday parties here — everyone gets the same size, and you don’t have to worry about cutting a cake!
We’ve decided on a cupcake bar. I’m going to make the cupcakes ahead of time, then let the guests decorate them with icing, candy and Skylanders rings.
That’s a fun, hands-on activity that everyone enjoys and provides great opportunity for photos.
Another idea would be making the cupcakes, then decorating them with these Skylanders printable cupcake toppers.
I think these pretzels from Amy’s Party Ideas look like loads of fun …. and they’d also work well for a St Patrick’s Day celebration!
Skylanders birthday party activities
Tech savvy moms could even set up Skylander stations and let party guests play Skylanders for a while.
We’re big on books around here – look at this Skylanders Mad Libs book I found! That would make a fun party favor or game to play during the party!
I know my children and their guests would LOVE to experience this geyser activity. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we can have their party outside, for a quick and easy cleanup!
Do you have some great ideas to add? Have you hosted a Skylanders party? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments!
