Back to school time – even for a homeschooling family, it means a change in our routine.
We’re slowly moving away from the slower pace of summer into the busier fall. Soon, we’ll be juggling AHG, riding lessons, choir, soccer practice and religious education. (I’m getting dizzy just reading that.)
Trying to keep all my ducks in a row can be hard.
As a special treat to celebrate the kickoff of the school year, I planned a fun treat for the kids. During our homeschool day, a break for a snack is a respite for mom and the children!
An added bonus? It’s an easy recipe, so they can hop in the kitchen and help out.
Ingredients Needed
8 ounces cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup NESQUIK® Powder to taste
(add more if you like it super chocolatey)
2 – 4 tablespoons milk
Dipping favorites — fruits, marshmallows, graham crackers, pretzels — use your imagination!
We’re blessed with a Target near our home, where we’re able to pick up all of our creamy chocolate dip supplies. While you’re shopping, don’t miss the Cartwheel offer.
Offer Title: Nesquik Powder & Ready-to-Drink Bottles
15% off 18.7oz powder and 10 packs of bottles
(offer good 8/21-8/27)
Leave your cream cheese on the counter to soften for an hour or so. Then, get your helpers to whip your softened cream cheese.
Measure out your powdered sugar as well as your Nesquick Powder. Find another helper to sift the powdered sugar and Nesquick together.
Slowly add in your powdered sugar and Nesquick Powder to the whipped cream cheese. You’ll add in the milk at this point, too. I found that a 1/2 cup of Nesquick was chocolatey enough for my taste buds, but feel free to add more.
Baby Daniel gave his approval, too.
If you can pull your creamy chocolate dip away, stick it into the fridge for a few hours.
Then, serve it to your littles for a mid afternoon snack. We use our Creamy Chocolate Dip with fruit, , graham crackers dippers, marshmallows and more. I love it with pretzel sticks — just the right combination of sweet and salty.
Come to think of it, this dip would be a super decadent treat for breakfast, on a warm bagel. YUM!
Don’t miss Nesquick on Pinterest and Facebook for more amazing recipe ideas! I spied ideas for smoothies and muffins – perfect for breakfasts on busy mornings!
