Creative writing is an important part of our homeschool. I love to encourage my children to use their imaginations. I’m always amazed at the stories they can create.
As a bonus to my email subscribers, I’m sharing my free writing prompt printables for the entire year!
This packet includes:
Monthly writing prompts on a single page (12 in all!)
Writing prompts on individual strips – you could print these out and use them in a ‘prompt jar’. There are even blank ones in case you want to include your own.
Several variations of monthly themed writing paper – options include early elementary, notebooking, and Handwriting Without Tears.
Don’t miss the Free Printable Day with my friends at the iHomeschool Network. You’ll find resources for marriage, homeschooling, home organization and more!

What a great resource! My kiddo is still too young to be able to write still. I would otherwise love the printables, but we won’t be needing that for a few years 🙂

They’re also some great conversation starters! My daughter and I used to read through writing prompts and I would let her answer me verbally.
Thanks for coming by !

Though I like to write, I don’t like to grade writing assignments : ( Thus I probably haven’t encouraged my children to write as much as I should. I look forward to receiving the printable and exploring this with my children.

Since I LOVED creative writing, it doesn’t seem like a lot of work to me. Grammar, on the other hand … ugh!
They would be a lot of fun to try!
Thanks for coming by!

This is so neat, I don’t currently home school however right now both of my youngest need to improve on their handwriting. These prompts will be a great way to help them come up with fun stuff to write. I also love when children’s imaginations go crazy, its amazing what they come up with. Thank you so much for this.
Dianna Kennedy says
We’ve even used them as conversation starters around the dinner table — the possibilities are endless!
Thanks for coming by, Tamara!

I did sign up by e-mail…can you tell me how I can now get these free writing prompts? I was not sure if I would get another e-mail to be able to download and save them. Thanks!
