Focus.
That’s a word that a bit difficult for me. There are SO many things I want to accomplish, and to do them well, I need to pare down my daunting to do list.
If I focus on one or two tasks, and concentrate on achieving success there, then suddenly, I have more energy and drive to succeed.

Are you familiar with 3 in 30? It’s never too late to join in!
Pick 3 tasks that you want to carry out in 30 days, post on your blog for accountability, and you’re in! It will be fun for me to look back at the end of the year, and look at how much I’ve been able to overcome.
We’re nearing the end of July, so it’s time for a recap, and see where things stand.
1. Physical: Follow the half marathon training plan, being sure to add in cross training and weights.
This week’s training schedule calls for 12 miles, over 3 runs. If you’re looking for a training plan for any type of race, I’d recommend Smart Coach. It’s free, customizable and easy to use.
Tues: Speedwork – 4 miles, which included 2 miles of speedwork. Amazingly, I love speedwork on the treadmill. It’s challenging, and so much fun to look back and see that I’ve improved a lot since last fall.
Thurs: Easy run – training plan called for 3 miles, but I was only able to hold on for 2.5. The heat and humidity here is dreadful now.
Saturday: Long Run – training plan calls for 5 miles, but I’m also planning to make up the half mile from Thurs, too. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can deal with the treadmill for that long.
I’m itching to run today, but what I really need to do is some cross training. I’m finding it hard to keep myself motivated to get that done.
2. Spiritual:Easy, and simple. Get the Saint Joseph Novena finished.
I’m on track to finally get this finished. Just in time, since Angie and I have big plans for next month.
3. Personal:
Consignment sale season is upon us again, so it’s time to get crackin’! I’ll be busy sorting, ironing, hanging, pricing and tagging hundreds of items.
Right on track here, too! All of the girl clothes and children’s shoes are hung, priced and entered into the computer inventory. Next up is boys clothes and toys.
Head over to see how everyone else is doing at 3 in 30. If you need some motivation for exercise, be sure and visit Fitness Friday.

Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE 3 in 30 — doing really well this month!
I think you might be able to cross-label your consignment sales prep as “personal” AND “physical”—that’s a lot of work you’re accomplishing! (My kids’ old clothes are folded and in totes . . . does that count for anything?!)

Most days, I make my husband haul all the boxes, etc. Except when I get irritable and want it done rightthissecond. (who, me???)
Shoot — with 4 girls, I think you may be drowning even more than I am in clothes. Every year, when I do this, I say, “I need to stop buying so many clothes!!)
I like the idea of 3 in 30. Breaking your goals down in small, more manageable chunks can make accomplishing them much easier.
The head/humidity in Florida is killing my running too. If I can’t get out before the sun comes up, I usually have to cut my runs short.

The heat is totally zapping me. I started running in October, so this is totally new to me. Around here in Kentucky, we’ve had heat indexes in the 110-115 degree range this week. I ran Thursday at 630, and only managed to last for 2.5 miles. It was like running in a sauna!
The treadmill and I are good friends over the past few weeks.
I’ve seen the 3 in 30 before – but have never done it. I might have to give it a try. August will be here before I know it!!

3 in 30 is a ball! It really has kept me on track. I’m the kind of person who wants to run a half marathon, declutter my house, say a novena, homeschool my kids, start a homebased business, lose 20 lbs ….. all in a month’s time. It forces me to take a realistic look at my goals, and I’m much more successful.
Awesome! Sounds like you are doing great!

Blah! The treadmill for long runs. Good luck sticking it out. I’m quite happy that I’m on a rest week this week, so I only have to run 4 miles instead of 8 Sunday. I’m not looking forward to 9 next week. It’s getting so hot outside, but I think I might actually die if I tried to run 9 miles on the treadmill.

Some days, it’s easy, some days, not so much.
I ran 4.25m the other day on the mill, like it was nothing. I was immersed in a good book, so the miles just melted away.
Today (Sat), I ran outside for the first time in 2 weeks ….. YUCK! Luckily I had my husband with me, or I would have turned back. We ran 6.25m together … my training plan called for 4, but running with him kept me motivated. It’s proabably a good thing I ran that far. The next two weeks long runs are 6 miles each, then it will ramp up to 8 the week after.
I can hold out for about 5 miles on the treadmill — that’s the longest I’ve ever ran indoors. I have a friend who’s run up to 10 miles there! I don’t know if she has a movie on, or what! I can’t imagine.

I’m sure getting engrossed in a good book would help. Unfortunately, I can’t read and run — or walk, even. My eyes won’t stay focused. I watch TV, but it’s still tough.
I’m supposed to do 9 miles today, but I’m seriously thinking of just doing 5 or so on the treadmill. It’s just so miserably hot.
Wow – you have some great goals this month!! Wonderful progress
One of mine was to get ready for consignment season to – hard to believe that it’s time for fall clothing!!

I’m about ready to throw all the consignment stuff out — I really get tired of it right about the time the sales start … but I have to keep my eyes on the prize …. extra money, decluttering, and passing my treasures on to someone else.
Good for you!!! Keep it up:)
