Join the Club? :Question of the Week

Are you involved in your local Mothers of Multiples Club?
In my area, for mothers of multiples, we have the Louisville Mothers of Twins Club. With over 170 members, ranging from expectant mothers of multiples, as well as mothers with school age multiples and beyond, there’s sure to be another mother available for networking.
I have to admit, I don’t utilize the LMOTC as much as some mothers of multiples might. Maybe it’s because my twins aren’t my first children, or because the meeting times don’t work out for me. My parenting style doesn’t always mesh with the majority of twin mothers, so I tend to stay very quiet on the forums there. I’m not a fan of scheduled C-sections,sleep scheduling, or ‘crying it out’ with twins or any other babies. I prefer to surround myself with women who parent in similar fashion as I do.
For our family, we’ve utilized the twins club primarily during their family social functions. We’ve gone to a Fall Festival, Breakfast with Santa, and the bi-annual Consignment Sale. In our area, LMOTC kicks off the fall and spring consignment seasons with the wildly popular Twins Consignment sale. Not only for parents of twins, this offers a chance to reduce, reuse, and recycle: mothers of multiples can unload their treasures and make some cash, and the members of the community can pick up some great deals!
If you are a mother of multiples, or expecting twins, be sure to check out the local multiples club near your home. The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club will have listings for your locale. Head to Multiples and More for twin club stories from other moms.
