I’m really glad to know that the demise of the laptop didn’t stop Mama Kat from rolling out this week’s Writer’s Workshop!

Oh, yeah! Back to school time ….. I’m lovin‘ it. (I’ll have another post related to this later)
1. Children go to bed earlier: I love my girls, but my oldest daughter can stay up with the owls, and sleep ’til noon. Since her school starts at 7:20, she now has to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
2. School supplies: yes, I am a total nerd. I’ve loved shopping for school supplies for as long as I can remember. I loved new pencils, new folders, Trapper Keepers, etc. (yeah, so I’m showing my age) I was a little disappointed this year, since Abby went shopping with her dad. I learned my lesson, however, from years past. Inevitably, she will need more stuff as the year goes on. I’ve already got some pencils stuck back; I need to go and grab more pens, paper, notebooks, etc.
I also bought a bunch of stuff for Rachel for homeschooling …. crayons, etc. I need to go back and get more, since the boys are wanting to color as well.
3. Time to myself: When Rachel is in Mother’s Day Out, Abby is at school, and the boys are napping, it’s kind of like having time to myself again. Drinking coffee, blogging, cleaning house, etc.
4. Meeting new people: Apparently, this kind of thing fills my tank! With Abby in a new school, and Rachel in a different class, there are all sorts of new faces, both for my girls, as well as myself.
5: Back to school shopping: I won’t lie …. I’d rather wrestle an alligator than go shopping with Abby — she and I just have totally different tastes. However, back to school signals a change in the closets …. in with the new, out with the old. It also heralds the beginning of the huge consignment sale season around here …. bring on the deals, plus I get to declutter my house! Yay!
