I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, but I tell you, since being on vacation, somehow, my semblance of a routine has somehow disappeared. I even missed one of my favorite blogging activities ….. Writer’s Workshop!!!
Here are this week’s prompts:
The Prompts:
1.) Interview a child.
2.) How do you stave off boredom?
3.) Write a poem for the little boy in your life. — I am NOT a poet, so will have to skip this one.
4.) Describe a memorable interview or talk about your experience trying to find a job amidst this recession. — thankfully, being a nurse means no problems on the job front, at least for now.
5.) Create a Help Wanted Ad.
1.) Interview a child.
Rachel, age 3
Me: Rachel, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Rachel: (blank look on her face) I don’t know.
Me: What kind of job are you going to have?
Rachel: A DORA JOB!!
(I guess she means she will live at home, drive around in the woods with a cow, a monkey, a lizard, and a squirrel. Great)
Me: Are you going to get married?
Rachel:(laughing) Yes … Vincent wants to marry me … he’s a silly boy.
(I have to admit, he is a cutey pie!! Plus, I love his mother!)
Me: Is Vincent going to have a job? (since my daughter is going to be cavorting along the countryside, singing)
Rachel: Yes! He’s going to have a Diego job! (Great …. Maria, I’m sorry that your son is now destined to save all the wildlife, or whatever it is that Diego does.)
Me: Where are you going to live?
Rachel: MOUNT WASHINGTON! (probably with me!)
Me: What’s your favorite color?
Rachel: PINK !
(no surprise there)
Me: Who do you love??
Rachel: DADDY!!
All right …. interview over.
2.) How do you stave off boredom?
Seriously??? Bored?? My house is pretty much constant chaos ….. I’m never bored. On the rare instances that I have some time to myself ….. I will:
– read
– take a long leisurely shower, without children banging on the door
– blog
– take a well deserved nap
I may be boring …. but certainly not bored
5.) Create a Help Wanted Ad.
Needed: Sanity Saver
Help! Mom of 4, including 3 children ages 3 and under, needs help keeping it all together! Duties include feeding a preschooler and toddler twins, averting disaster at all times, picking up toys, helping to fold laundry, and keeping Mom somewhat sane. This looks like it will be a part time job, on a long term basis!!
Run over to Mama Kat’s, for her poetry, and other Writer’s Workshop entries!
